Frequently asked

I have not run in years. Is this for me?

Yes, that is exactly who it is for. Start with something like one minute running and two minutes walking, and keep the total short. Run/walk is the standard way back into running because the walk breaks are what keep you uninjured, not a sign you are failing at it.

What run and walk lengths should I pick?

If you are starting from nothing, 1:00 run and 2:00 walk for twenty minutes is a common first session. As it gets easier, add to the run and take from the walk. There is no plan built into the app and no one grading you.

Do I have to look at my phone while running?

No. Every switch plays a chime and a haptic buzz, so the phone can stay in a pocket or an armband the whole time. Pick the chime you like in Options.

Do I need an account?

No. There is nothing to sign up for. Open the app and start a run.

What is free and what costs money?

The timer is free forever, both modes, with the route map, distance, pace, and interval splits on every run. The free tier shows your three most recent runs plus week and month totals. A one-time $4.99 unlock opens your full history, the six month and year totals, and iCloud sync.

If I do not pay, do I lose my old runs?

No. Older runs are hidden, never deleted. Buy the unlock whenever you like and every run you have ever recorded is still there.

Does it work without location permission?

Yes. The timer, the chimes, and your run and walk times all work with location off. What you lose is the route map, distance, and pace, because those are computed from GPS. Treadmill runs work fine this way.

Does it need a signal?

No. GPS works without a mobile signal, and nothing is uploaded mid-run. Airplane mode is fine.

What devices are supported?

iPhone running iOS 26 or later. Portrait only. There is no iPad or Apple Watch app yet.

How do I restore a purchase?

Open Options and tap Restore purchases. The unlock is tied to your Apple ID, so it follows you to a new iPhone at no extra cost.
